On July 19, 2007, Breeze Harper gave a talk, "Race, Class, Food, and You!", to a crowd of over 50 people in Pittsburgh.
Harper spoke about the connections between
diet, racism, animals and the use of veganism as a tool to resist
institutionalized oppressions.
Harper is the creator of the Sistah Vegan Project and the forthcoming Sistah Vegan anthology, which contains stories, poetry, and critical essays by Black identified females who practice veganism.
